Hi I just bought a 2005 Honda Civic 4 dr and the girl who sold me the car had an amplifier in and when she sold the car shecut the wires to the amp to take the amp. I'm thinking when she did that, she caused a shortage somewhere. After testing all the fuses, they were all good except I found out there's no power coming from the wires that plug into the AC Transistor. What could be causing those wires to have no power? Could it be a relay issue? What would I possibly look for and what could I possibly replace?? The Air will turn on rarely out of no where, and sometimes cold, sometimes not cold at all. No Fan, No heater, No AC... Suggestions?

P.S. I uploaded a picture of the wires that have no power coming out of them.

A wiring diagram and a little thinking would tell you why this is.


Start over here, identify one thing. One problem.

My guess: The fan in the dash sometimes does not turn on?
Wait for it to quit.
Give it a tap on the bottom of the dash.
If it comes on, it's junk...Replace it.

The fan does not turn on at all now. If the fan is junk, would that cause the wiring to be junk as well? I tested to see if there's power coming out of the wiring and none... I'm guessing the wiring gets it power from somewhere then supplys it to the fan or I don't know. I'm confused and Literally have no clue to about cars, first time I read into all this and try testing things out.. A Guide for dummies would be amazing, I guess wouldn't we all need that sometimes

Then it should be much easier to figure out.
Turn the system on and smack the bottom of the fan motor.

Does it try to run?
If it tries, stop here and replace it.
If it doesn't try at all, keep going.

I don't know of any single book for dummies on cars.

A wiring diagram is the road map. A voltmeter is the tool (or a test light if you know how to use one)


If I want to figure out why the fan doesn't work, I start testing at the fan motor. (My first test might involve my foot, as in the first line of this reply.)
It MUST have a 12v positive and a 12v negative at its connector in order to run.
Does it have both of those?

When inoperative...try moving/twisting the plastic connector and wiring at the plugs for blower fan and transistor and see if it tries to work.

tried that twist thing, didnt work...

Have you tried whacking the fan motor as ezone mentioned ??

You should investigate the blower relay in the under-hood box next.
