1.5'' F/R Drop Springs - Rear clearly lower!
So I put on 1.5'' drop springs on my 03 civic ex today & it did not look like what I expected.
In the front there is about a 2.5 finger gap while in the rear it's tucked under the fender, why is that? (Had a pro shop install it btw)
I like how the front looks, wish the back would be the same.

Re: 1.5'' F/R Drop Springs - Rear clearly lower!
It's because the springs had the same amount of drop all the way around. The front needs to be dropped more to make it even.
When the car is at stock ride height the fender gap in the front is larger then rear, it's just not as noticeable because there is more empty space between the wheel well and the tire. Now that's its lower its more obvious.

Could that difference be cuz I didn't get an alignment yet?

First of all, WOW, those rims look sick!
Secondly, Golnat is right, it's just how some lowering kits are. You'd need lower fronts, or taller rears.
If you search the forums for uneven lowering you'll find lots of threads about this same isssue. Most of the lowering spring kits come with even amounts of drop. The front naturally sits higher for steering clearance and suspension travel reasons, so when lowered, it looks wonky. Part of this is also due to the fronts being a bit stiffer to support the weight of the engine.
So far, Neuspeed are the only ones I've seen that look even, closely followed by TEIN. I've heard nothing but complaints about the posture of Eibach springs. I just went with coilovers in the end so I wouldn't have to worry about this problem
On the bright side, all springs sag over time. Because the front is so heavy, it may come down after a few months. But eventually the backs will catch up and be uneven again, haha, it's a never ending battle.

also 9/10 guys on here will say that your back ride height looks completely awesome. Maybe see if you can find lower springs for the front and sell your current ones.

Sedans also sag a bit more in the back compared to coupes. So I've noticed, at least, being on this forum for-effing-ever
Re: 1.5'' F/R Drop Springs - Rear clearly lower!
Yea my sedan sits lower in the back with my Eibach's. I'm tucking in the back and at about 1 and half fingers in the front. That's why I bought coilovers (and I wanted to tuck in the front) if I can stand the ride.
Re: 1.5'' F/R Drop Springs - Rear clearly lower!
IM riding on neuspeed sports and have 2 finger gap in the rear and 1 finger gap in the front...
What are you running for struts? Im on Tokico blues and am wondering if the lower spring perch on the rear strut is higher than OEM....

Re: 1.5'' F/R Drop Springs - Rear clearly lower!
Never thought about that. I'm on D-Specs in the back and OEM up front. I have the rear removed now, I'll have to measure them and compare to the OEM rear.

I've looked around & I've heard complaints about being uneven from the best springs to the worst (Ebay brands to Eibach). Financial situation is not at it's best right now so I had to go with the cheaper way instead of coilovers. With that being said Ima go ahead & buy some Mr. Gasket spacers to give it that 1'' bump in the back & see how it works out.
Re: 1.5'' F/R Drop Springs - Rear clearly lower!
Ya, I hear you but I don't want it to be that low. Going for a clean look so I just wanted to take some of that wheel gap off.

I got OEM, can't afford anything else right now.

Re: 1.5'' F/R Drop Springs - Rear clearly lower!
i went with eibachs and it was even all around my only problem was that it advertises a one inch drop front and back but actually dropped 2-2.5 inches all around but its even and after seeing it im not complaining one inch wouldn't have been enough anyway i cant recommend eibach enough i love the ride quality of the springs matched with tokico blues enough
Re: 1.5'' F/R Drop Springs - Rear clearly lower!
The perch on the D-Spec is about 4in from the center of the bottom bushing. Maybe the perch on the D-specs is lower and that would drop the rear of your car more then the Blues.
@jono237
Yea, it seems like its either the Sportline springs that are not right which was more then the advertised 1.5inch drop (at least the rear), or the perches are at different heights depending on the struts that you get.
Since TFMEX got Neuspeed springs which have a different drop front to back and his is higher in the back maybe the Blues are better for equal front to back drop springs and D-Specs are not. I believe Koni's have an adjustable perch so you can even it out.
