bubbling rev?

When ever a turn my car on especially in the cold morning and I rev it a little. Not even rev, just pressing the gas down, I hear a sort of bubbling noise. What could it possibly be?

Re: bubbling rev?

It's telling you to stop with the revs.

Is that your only complaint?
Does it have open exhaust?
My Hog kinda does this with open pipes.

Re: bubbling rev?

I don't thnk its the gas. The coolant looks pretty full the oil dip is a bit higher than midway but when I looked into the engine it looked empty.

.

What do you have X-Ray vision? The dipstick is what tells you your oil level...You can't see the oil pan (where the oil sits and is measured) from the top, there are valves and a lot of engine parts in the way...

Re: bubbling rev?

Check your coolant. Do you know how? Does your car overheat?

Only the oil dipstick can be used to determine how much engine oil you have. Its best to check when motor is cold.

Re: bubbling rev?

The Dipstick indicates just under full.
This picture is what I was talking about when I said I could see the bottom of the engine. Is that supposed to be full or what is supposed to be there?

Re: bubbling rev?

lol the oil sits in the bottom of the engine in the oil pan. not the top in your cylinder head/valve cover. go by what it reads on the dip stick you can't see anything by removing the oil cap and looking into the valve cover.

That's part of the valvetrain. An intake valve rocker arm, and a valve spring is what you see there.

And what Muirsy said.

Re: bubbling rev?

Yeh bro, if you filled the oil up to that level, you would have more than just a "bubbling rev" problem....I don't think you have any issues...but I have been wrong before...

Re: bubbling rev?

I have a feeling the "bubbling" is actually the valves chattering a bit.

How many miles does the car have, has it ever had a valve adjustment?

Re: bubbling rev?

Once again, ONLY the dipstick can be used to determine engine oil amount. Best done on a cold engine when car is level.

How about a video clip of the sound?

Re: bubbling rev?

I hit 115000 miles this weekend.
The oil must be fine then.
Im not sure if its had a valve adjustment.
Checked for the bubbling today and only heard it for like a second, usually its bubbling only for the first 20 seconds that Im actually in gear and moving.
