Like the title says, are there any? Im looking mainly for a Honda specific scanner to read codes, and possibly live data, programming is a bonus.

A knockoff kit for my BMW cost about $40 and has plenty of programming features for the car as well. Wondering if theres something out there for my Civic (1.7 EL actually). If the request is sketchy relating to forum rules, because im not sure if this particular forum is strict in that department, PM me.

Check out dealextreme.com. There are some really cheap OBD/bluetooth scanners that pair with a smart phone. I haven't tried them but they fairly cheap compared to the full blown scanners.

i just use a cheap $40 ebay C-tools brand pocket scanner i got on ebay. it stays under the seat for emergencies when i need to see what the check engine light is saying. all it does is read and erase codes tho.

Dealextreme is where I got my BMW scanner. I've found generic scanners which would work on most of my cars, for around $50.

I was mostly interested if there are any programmable options on the civic such as disabling DRLs (without pulling a fuse), auto locks, AC to not come on with window vent setting, etc.

DRLs, I would keep them enabled.

Compressor release,Do you have climate control type setup ??
If not you might try the honda Civic method to allow compressor disable.

If you do have a CC setup I would research the method used to disable on another Honda with CC and it may work on yours the same way.

Auto Locks, I would think there would be the usual method to disable this feature. Users manual maybe ??

What year is your EL ??

I have a 2001 Acura El Touring, no automatic setting for the climate control. Its 98% a Civic, from most aspects.

Auto locks I don't have lol, I'd like to add them if possible. DRL's are not really something I'd personally want to do. I do have some people who know I offer programming for BMWs, and were wondering if I could work on their Hondas as well.

Interested in this CC method you're mentioning, is there a thread for this?

I would give it a try.

Keep in mind... the compressor will still kick in when moving into floor/def and Def and the A/C light will light, but if the procedure works you will be able to touch the A/C button and the light will turn off & the compressor will release. As long as you don't move in and out of those 2 selections then the compressor will stay off indefinate.
