Power loss when AC is on
Power loss when AC is on
I've recently noticed a considerable loss in power when I turn on the AC. I understand that the AC decreases power but lately it has been much more noticable. It basically brings my car to a crawl. It occasionally makes a squeeking noise but not always. The power loss isnt consistent either it comes and goes. With triple digit temperature not running it isnt really an option so I want to get it fixed I'm just not sure where to start. Any ideas?

Re: Power loss when AC is on
^^^ That and maybe tightening your belts. Other than that, our Horsepower is just destroyed when we use the A/C. I think it is like a 40 HP loss or something like that. If ya need the HP turn off the A/C and roll down the windows. You may want to try reconditioning your R-32. I know it has a lubricant in the freon itself... Maybe it would free up some HP if the pulley was turning a little easier... Just a guess.
