Re: Coolant Type
you know water wetter should only be used in water right? only then do you get the 10F lower boiling temp. in antifreeze, it doesnt work at all and can cause other problems.

Re: Coolant Type
From what redline and retailers say, it can be used in antifreeze. Check out this site

Re: Coolant Type
technically it can, but ive read instances where it gelled up in antifreeze. and you get zero performance benefit in just antifreeze anyway, so no point imo. its for hot summer months where you only have water in there and need the extra lubrication/protection for the cooling system to prevent rust and corrosion. its meant to be used with water only. and even then you only get at most a 13 degree temp reduction.

Re: Coolant Type
I use the cheapest antifreeze/coolant at the local auto store. I have had many cars and not one problem because of cheap coolant. Buying it from the dealer is rediculous!
You might as well go to the dealer to get air in a low tire if you are buying Honda coolant. You are wasting your money.

Re: Coolant Type
I plan on using Prestone Extended life, it's silicate free. its like $8 for 50/50 at wally world, and $11 for the un-mixed. OEM has to supply their product from somewhere, I would not be surprised if it comes from prestone to begin with.
