How much transmission fluid do I need?
How much transmission fluid do I need?
Hey all. I have a 2002 Civic EX (MT) and I'd like to replace the transmission fluid since I think it's been a while since that was done. Does anyone happen to know how many quarts I need?
I couldn't find anything in my owners manual. Any help is greatly appreciated!

there must be scale on dipstick. Be sure you park your car on flat surface
Re: How much transmission fluid do I need?
MMMM not sure for civics. I'd check the dip stick like he said. For supras theres a drain bolt and a fill bolt. You fill it up till it trickles out the side of the fill bolt and close her up.
Re: How much transmission fluid do I need?
Auto's have a dipstick but not MT. AUS-ES1 is right- appx 1.6L. Its just drain and fill- follow the diy's on the site. Best advice I found when I did mine was crack the fill plug first before the drain plug in case u drain the fluid then find out the fill plug is jacked, and make sure u keep the car level.

Its like 2 and a half quarts you cant over fill the manual just fill it until it comes out and your good. But i will suggest you get the factory honda fluid. We have had cars come in with trans noises from having it changed with other companies fluid
