upgraded (revised) auto trans dipstick?
i recently placed an order to majestic honda and since it was so cheap, i threw in a new auto trans dipstick. anyone with 01-05 auto trans knows how loose the factory stick is, ready to fall out. well the new one came today, and it is much different. the top ring handle has beefy yellow foam, and the metal is a bit different color. most importantly, the rubber stopper part that goes in the hole is HUGE. i almost didnt think it would fit. when i tried to install it by pushing down with the ring, it wouldnt even go on. i had to firmly push the plug at the bottom until all three "rings" of the rubber locked into place. i cant believe how strong it is. so either honda finally fixed the problem, or majestic knows about it and is shipping better versions from the newer civics. the one i ordered was just for my 02 sedan. anyway, i highly recommend this new product lol.

dam really so if fluid can get out then that means debris can get in thats not good maybe i can find a rubber o ring big enough to fit on the dip stick allowing it to seal properly so i don't have to spend money on a new one think that will work or could it possibly get to hot ???

i think new one is your best bet. it fits so snug and nice, no chance of burning or stuff falling in. o-ring might dissolve from the fluid, since there are different grades of rubber. and might not hold it properly anyway.

i double checked the part number on the package, and they sent the correct part for my year. i think it was $7 plus shipping. if thats all youre getting, it prolly will be cheaper to get it from dealer. and then you can always refuse it if it looks like the old one. the old had a small plastic ring holder i think orange. the new one has a dense foam large ring holder and its a light yellow color.

Thanks for the heads up on that information.
I have always said that the fit was just too loose, letting in whatever.
The one for my 05 came out as 25610-PLX-003. Is that what you recieved ??
There were 2 Majestic part #s listed I chose the higher #.

25610-PLX-003 is the correct # and it is a GREAT fit (hope it stays tight, I think it will)
I have always said that those original dipsticks were way too loose, glad they have solved the issue.
Thanks GB

Re: upgraded (revised) auto trans dipstick?
no problem. i am hoping it stops all the fluid from spilling out too. its all wet around the hole and most of the trans again with dirt mixed in. im gonna try and scrub it again and hopefully it doesnt come back. the shop says its rear main seal, but i can clearly see a path straight from the dipstick. the only issue i see is over time the trans fluid softens the rubber and eventually it loosens again. but at least its still way tighter than the oem one, even when the car was new.
