Hi guys,

about 8 months ago, i went to the mechanic and told him how i have a problem when i go around 80 km/hr and i press the brake, my steering wheel shakes.

He said my rotors have bubbles in it :S ?

I wasnt sure but i got them replaced.

Now again i have the same problem, and the mechanic is saying the same thing. He said the new rotors i got were of cheap quality and they have bubbles in it again , thats why my steering wheel shakes again when Im going 80km plus and pressing my brake.

How do i know if the rotors actually have bubbles in it ? :S , cause the way hes saying , i look at the rotor and it seems fine .

im confused. help please...thanks

I have never heard of bubbles appearing in rotors! I've heard of them warping, but thats about it. I had the same problem, and I switched to aftermarket drilled and slotted rotors to dispurse heat better, and I waited to wash my car until the rotors were cooled down. I went with R1 concept drilled and slotted rotors off of ebay for 70 bucks, and they work great.

Hmm... this has been beat to death. Drilled and slotted rotors do not dispense heat any better than blanks. In fact, there is less surface area so the heat dispersion is actually worse. Bubbles in your rotors probably means blue "hot" spots. You can see them if you look at the rotor. It is caused because the rotor heats up too much and develops hot spots. Which in turn causes the rotors to warp. Which in turn causes shake in the steering wheel. The hot spots usually are round, and look like a "bubble" on the rotor.

This is from braking at high speeds. Try to avoid using your brakes going faster than 80km/h unless you absolutely have to. You shouldn't have the problem again. I know it sounds odd but it's kinda rare on the highway to have to use your brakes unless its an emergency, or the guy in front of you does not know how to drive!

Good luck, I say go out and buy yourself a decent set of blanks, and install them properly!

Your Rotors Are Warped... That is because at one point or another your pads were replaced and the rotors were not cut.
