I live near the largest junk yard in the country, Harry's you pull it. I have been looking for a set of rsx seats for my em2 but Harry's says 95% of there cars are 1999's or older. So I was wondering where all the newer cars end up? I mean the totaled cars of course. Anyone know?

A car is only totaled when more then half its value is damaged. So having a brand new 25,000 car you need almost 13,000 dollars worth of damages or else its fixable. At least in ny that the way it is. So normally new cars dont total very easy, which is retarded when u think about it.

In GA it's about 70% of the value or very close to that. A lot of these insurance companies are starting to total them at less than 70% though. They pre sale a lot of the cars before they make a determination on them. They make more money to total a car than to fix them a lot of times. At least this is how I understand it coming from the insurance reps that came to the shop I used to work at. As far as where they go, I'm not sure about that. The wrecker comes to get them and they go bye bye and no one makes money!
