Re: 04 tail lights
the 01-03 headlights are shaped completely different, so no there are none that will make it look like the shape of an 04-05. you would need to completely do a front end conversion including your fenders, hood, bumper, grill, headlights, and bracketing underneath just to change to the 04-05 style.
if you mean that you like how the 04-05 are clear and want to do that, yes its possible. just follow this do-it-yourself https://www.civicforums.com/forums/1...r-removal.html

Re: 04 tail lights
oops I meant tail lights, on the sedan. i've seen how after the 04 model it looks a little different. wondering if Its possible to get those on an 01
and for the headlights is it illegal to mod them to be clear like that? just don't want to get more tickets lol

Re: 04 tail lights
its not illegal at all. the stock style (like you have) is a regular bright bulb under an orange plastic lens so it flashes orange. if you clear it out, you will not be able to use your old bulb, so as long as you get an amber (orange) bulb for it, you are completely street legal. if you try to use your old bulb, it will look too bright and distracting (almost like how someone with a broken tail light in front of you looks).
as you can see by the little picture under my name, i have white led bulbs for my signal and parking lights, so i am not 'legal' but ive never had a problem with cops for it. i hate the colour amber.

Re: 04 tail lights
actually some states allow white turn signals (maybe not canada). it looks like you have a broken lens tho if you just keep the clear bulbs.

Re: 04 tail lights
I think they will mount o.k. for 01-05.
You have to take the bumper off on sedans, & I thought the sockets aligning keys are different.
My 05 backup bulb is a 7440 and I think the turn signals are 7440 as well.

Re: 04 tail lights
yeah 01-02 and 03-05 sedan tails are exactly the same, even uses all the same bulb types. they all use 7443 brake, 168 park, 7440 for signal and reverse. when you remove the bumper to get that stupid bracket off, just leave it off so next time you can pull the lights off without removing bumper.

Re: 04 tail lights
i seen them on the shelf of autovalue and partsource both today. i had to go into both to pick up a 7440 bulb (trying to find a set of red ones) and they had 7443 in blue, amber, and clear. but 7440 in only amber and clear. no red

Re: 04 tail lights
check the ebay seller i mentioned. they have red 7440 and all his bulb are natural glass, will never fade away or flake. its a nice dark red coating too so the light looks good.

Re: 04 tail lights
oh nice, thanks man. ive been searching ebay for any 7440 red bulb that is NOT led. for some reason i want a regular bulb in that spot rather than leds, which i love. anyway everytime ive searched, there are only two sets that came up, both were around 30$ for the bulbs + shipping in total.
these ones are only 9$ in total.
i guess maybe its because they are in their ebay store, and when you search on ebay it doesnt include stuff in peoples stores. anyway, i went with these ones instead for only 3 bucks more so it came to only 12$ total.

it says theyre the same red ones made of red glass with the chrome coating. i think itll look good. ill let you know when they come.
thanks.

Re: 04 tail lights
only problem is they might not be bright enough with the chrome coating. but i guess you can always get the red ones if these dont work.
Re: 04 tail lights
You can get the 03-05 OEM all red taillights (black Civic). They'll replace 01-02 styles. Also the red/clear versions out there look good too. 01-02 versions on procarparts.com and 03-05 versions on depoautolights.com. I have REAL JDM taillights on my 05 sedan (blue Civic)
