drop

hey guys, i wanting to drop my car super bad, ever since puttin my new rims on it it just sits way to high. i was first looking at springs, but then they arent adjustable and i was thinking that would b a nice feature cuz sometimes we do get lots of snow here in bc, but sometimes we dont. so ppl on my local forum were talkin to me about coilover sleeves, and they were about 50/50 on doing that route. personally i dont think i would ever get full coilovers less i got a sweetdeal, just dont see myself putting that much money into my car.

so what i was wondering is, who on here is rockin coilover sleeves?
how does it ride?
and what sleeves and shocks are you using?

This is just my dd, prob would never take it to the track, i just want it to b flashy.

Re: drop

Just like women bro, we've all got the same basic idea, but everyone likes em a bit different..

Seriously though, this is really dependant on how low of a drop you're wanting. If you're slamming your car, nothing is going to cut it aside from baggin', a primo coilover setup, or some solid springs with the Koni mod.

Personally, I've got 17's on my car dropped with Tein S-Tech's (1.75"F and 1.5"R if I remember right) and I'm satisfied. My good buddy has rode on sleeves - don't make that mistake. It's kinda like buying a janky turbo from ebay; you won't be satisfied. You're money will be better spent saving up for some more solid components.

Another of my good buddies bought the Tein coilover system; he loved them, but I honestly dont ever remember him adjusting the drop lol.. It sounds like a great thing, but more than likely you won't mess with it as much as you think.

How low are you looking to drop your car, and how long are you expecting your setup to last in comparison to how much you're willing to invest..?

Re: drop

i wanna drop it like two inches im thinking although more looks temptin although i dont think it would b a good idea. i was first thinkin of just going with springs, and go with mys tock shocks, but some ppl say its fine and the others say its not so im a little undecided about that. what i want is bout a 2inch drop that rides nice, and will last for as little as possible, without cheaping out and buying crap.

Re: drop

man just save up for some full coilovers. you can get a decent set for under a grand. if u decide to go with springs, your going to need to upgrade shocks. i went that route, and wish i would of just saved up and waited, the drop on tein stechs is not low enough imo
