New engine no AC

Just got a new engine in my vic. Now I have no AC, and my windshield wipers don't work.

Can I just recharge the AC system with R134a and it will work?

Just remove the AC system. I know it gets hot in southern california but I've manage this whole summer without an AC system in the car. Just roll down the windows.

Not to mention the AC system does add extra weight and drain the engine of HP.

awesome answer lol, you can try to refill it but if there is a leak it will only last a little while. You should probably have it looked at by a shop.

Talked to my mechanic. He told me the windshield wiper relay was bad so he took it out.
Then he said one of the hoses for the AC had a leak in it. So I need to buy both those parts and then he can get me running.

Its too hot in socal to go without AC I have two kids and we all ride in the civic. It was bearable with the AC because it was so cool. But now I hate driving.
