Hey guys just finished up with my associats in automotive, working this summer with a good paying job, just wanted to do a few upgrades to my car, thinking about a cam, exhaust, intake and maybe a vtec head, and port and polish, not completely sure on what i want to do yet, just wanted to hear from the experts on whats the best things to do. i know the d17 wont gain much power, but i would like a little more, any help would be appreciated, thanks

Personally, I think you should just swap the D17 out altogether. Get a K series motor (K20A2 or even a K20A3) and a K-Pro and save yourself a lot of work and get better results.

Stage 1 cam call it a day lol. Suspension makes the car more enjoyable. Unless you have money or mechanically inclined to install these parts yourself. The cost/benefit ratio does not make sense.

If you reinforce your internals, then nitrous is fun! But if I had the money I would definetly swap to k.

K20 is definetly worth it but it's not cheap, why don't you start off with the simple stuff like headers and exhaust little things like intakes make a big difference IMO. After that stuff you can better judge what your interested in.

to create horse power fron a d17 is really hard from a Nutural spire engine point of view the only way to create some horse power is to go with high compression, however i would not recomende it for daily driving. the other 2 option would be nitrous or boost the nitrous is the faster and chepear way to get horse power. but just the fact that you have to be reffiling the bottle is bad not to mention what would happen if you engine backfire or you red line under n20. boost is the other option that would be good but it just litle less expensive that the k swaps.
