Smile New headlights, Questions?

I found new headlights on craigslist from a girl who bought them but ended up selling her civic before she put them on. They've never been used, but I wanna know if they are junk because they're just a generic light. I can get them for a good price, I just wanna know if they are worth installing or will i have problems down the road. Also, I live in New York state... do you know if they have an issues with headlights?

I have a silver civic. The lights have black casing. Check out the link, how do you think they will look on a silver civic?

Heres a link to the site she bought them from. Thanks!

Re: New headlights, Questions?

i also have a silver civic, and i dont think i would like those at all....but thats preference. i am not a fan of projectors on our cars (unless you do your own by retrofitting some and do a good job).

if you like how they look, try them out...theres no harm. it only takes a couple hours to switch them back out if you dont like them.

just make sure BEFORE you install them, you take some clear window and door or exterior silicone, and make a nice thick bead surrounding the entire seam (where the clear front cover meets the black rear housing). if you dont do this, theres about a 90% chance you will get water and moisture on the inside of the headlights. once that happens you can sometimes get rid of it...but when you do it will eventually turn yellow and gross looking inside. just make sure you seal them really good, leave them for a night, and install the next day.

secondly, you will need to buy some new sets of bulbs if you dont already have them for your new headlights. they will not take the same bulbs you already have in your stock headlights.

lastly, when you hook that 'halo' ring up, you will probably need to splice the wires into the wiring of your parking or signal lights so that they get power.

^what he said, the only headlights i like on the 7thgen are the stock headlights, only way i would use projectors is if they were retro fitted, but as stated, it all depends on preference, don't do it because we say we don't like them, thats our opinion

also, when you seal them, i blacked out my headlights last month and i went to lowe's and got a clear bathroom and kitchen silicone and sealed them back up and it works great, had a lot of rain recently and still no leaks or moisture build up

Re: New headlights, Questions?

i had those, no amount of sealing will keep it from getting foggy. its just a bad design. and the projector sucks for seeing at night.

Re: New headlights, Questions?

lol i don't know about those headlights man...ONE halo ring??? lol.

i have similar headlights and they've worked great for me man. its all preference. i've always liked the projector/halo ring with black casing on my silver civic. to each his own.

but if u do plan on keeping them most def get some new bulbs for it and get align those headlights!

Re: New headlights, Questions?

i do like projectors, expecially with hids, but all the projector headlights for our cars suck in my opinion, i've heard alot of bad stuff about them, they leak, they don't align right, etc. to me i think the way alot of the projector headlights are are over designed (can't think of how to word it right now, rice perhaps?) why can't they just come out with a simple design like instead of having people have retro fit their oem headlights then why not actually make projectors that look just like oem lights, imo i think those would sell more than all the cheap looking projectors out there for our cars now.
