Manual to Power

Has anyone gone through the headache of this? (I'm talking about a PROPER conversion using OEM power windows and door panels, etc).

I'm considering doing this, but just want to know how long this is going to take. I remember this being a very complicated and time consuming process for the older Civics, with lots of throwing tools and cursing..

.. Anyone?

Re: Manual to Power

lol in my LX i've had 3 out of my 4 power windows go out on me...and I've changed 2 of them myself...and the down time spent taking my entire f$#(king door apart in the garage at night to put a new motor in and on one of them cutting that silencing foam was just ridiculous. i could not imagine doing a fresh install from scratch on it much less replacing another motor on my powered civic again.

i'm not trying to discourage you, i'm just saying i would probably be proud of the model you have since its lighter lol.

Re: Manual to Power

I haven't done it yet but I'm in the works of doing it. From what I've seen in the DIY's it doesnt look too bad. You don't have to use OEM parts but I'm guessing its just as time consuming using OEM stuff as aftermarket stuff is anyways.

Re: Manual to Power

I just want to know how much of a pain the process is in changing out the wiring harness since our manuals don't even have the plugs for power

Re: Manual to Power

Well, if you decide to go for it, I have a set of power coupe window tracks with motors for sale for pretty cheap in my FS thread.
