cutting the bumper?

yea so i did some exploring and found a lot of threads about how to install fog lights for 01-03 civics. my problem is not so much figuring out how to wire up the lights but cutting the holes in the bumper...
i cant seem to find any threads that help out with this part of hte installation.
i dont have the "templates" that are mentioned in that official installation instruction thing and i dont wanna screw anything up lol
how do i know how big im supposed to cut these holes?

Re: cutting the bumper?

AWESOME! thanks! this is exactly what i was looking for lol
but i still have some questions...
why doesnt the yellow line on the inner edge just match up with the red one?

also the previous owner of my car installed some universal fog lights and that may* have required him to cut out all of the grey plastic in the corners
would there be any problems if that tiny protrusion of grey plastic is missing?

*im not entirely sure about this i have to take a closer look at my bumper lol

Re: cutting the bumper?

The yellow lines are from a picture somebody else put up just cut on the red lines and around the traingle thing

It depends on how much he/she cut out. If they cut out too much you may need to reinforce the foglight. This is how much plastic the fog lights will cover up:

Here is a PDF on how to install them:

Re: cutting the bumper?

You should cut the yellow box instead of the red. If you need to cut more cut a little at a time afterward. It is not necessary to cut all the way out to the red line.
