cadillac converter

i need a new Catalytic converter for a 2001 civic lx coupe, i heard u cant buy them used. and found one for 350 dollars. the crack isnt to bad but i can here it and it sounds like a fan, i took it into a shop they want 700 to replace it. my dad can do that jus i want it cheaper. any ideas?

Catalytic converter. You can't convert your Honda to a Cadillac, there's too much labor involved.

Take it to the dealer, Honda put an extended warranty on the LX cats because of a faulty casting process. They should replace it for free.

lol ^^ Yea, buyin any used exhaust is kinda a waste of money especially a catalytic converter. I bet if u shop around u can find one even cheaper..and just have ur dad weld it on and u should be fine.

it was late i couldnt think. haha. but now its like after i got it out of the shop. they changed my timing belt, its start and just dies. like it will run and just craps out for no reason, im bringing it back in today because it wasnt doing this before u no, so what can that be?

just buy an 02 simulator from 02simulator.com and call it a day for 40 bucks

If you don't want to spend a lot of money on the converter then buy it used. Used parts, as long as they are ok, will do fine. You don't have to buy new, especially if the used one will last untill you get rid of the car in a few years. check the junkyards and see what they can turn up for you.
