I have been looking through the forums and google and i have not found a clear answer.

I have a 2002 honda civic lx coupe. i currently have an hks hi-power axleback exhaust. My exhaust manifold is cracked so i want to install a header and go with bigger piping to my axleback. I would like to swap to an ex header because there are more choices but i would like to keep my axleback. I am considering 2 different paths but im not sure what all i will need. (Note: i dont need or want a cat, and dont care if im legal, i have defoulers to stop the CEL)

1) Buy an ex header and downpipe and just get an exhaust shop to run piping form downpipe to my axleback

Correct me if i am wrong but are these the only things i'll need? would this work?

I'd prefer to go with the first option if possible. Im a little new to all of this so please bear with me.

personally i'd go with option 1, except you don't need a downpipe. the ex header goes all the way down, connects to the cat, then a midpipe, then the axle-back portion. just pick up your header and have the piping run from that to your axle-back.

do you need the catalytic converter? that will determine your options better. if no, go with LX kamikaze header. if yes but you still want EX setup, get top portion EX header, EX downpipe, EX cat (or random tech hi flow if not living in CA), and then have them mod your catback to fit.

I don't need the cat but if I just buy an ex header, isn't the 2nd 02 sensor hole on the downpipe? So to keep the CEL light off I would have to have a hole for the 2nd 02 sensor?

on the EX stsyem, first sensor is in the downpipe, second sensor is inside the cat. youre not gonna be able to keep the cel off if you dont have a cat, unless you get one of those ecu fooler things that tells the car everything is okay.
