Front license plate

Well i might be moving to texas here in the next month or 2 and well i was wondering about what all i need to get so as i can properly mount a front license plate on my car. It's a 04 civic lx coupe. Reason why i ask instead of using google is i know there is alot of crap out there and i figure why not just goto a good source where i know people will know pretty much exactly what i should do.

Re: Front license plate

mine has something like that on it, except it sticks out from the body. like that one but three dimensional and it's plastic that matches my bumper... you might want to check a honda dealership, even though that'll cost the most probably. However, it will definitely look the best. My civic is an 04 as well.

That doesn't really look like it would work. It looks like just a metal plate, guess i was hoping for something better looking.

Re: Front license plate

That Bracket is for the 01-03 models. The 04 and 05 are different. I dont like the license plate on the front so i just leave it off. Haven`t got pulled over yet so its all good.

Re: Front license plate

I had the same problem. I live in Texas, and where I live, you will get a ticket if you don't have a front plate on the farthest forward part of the car (no offset to one side). I searched high and low and nobody had one. I called several different dealers and picked one up with the specialized hardware for $32. Make sure you check several different dealers; some wanted as much as $50+ for everything.

Good Luck!

Re: Front license plate

dont our cars already have that front indent in the bumper? mines just screwed in to that with hex bolts. looks cleaner without a black plastic thing hanging there, altho falkens looks the cleanest cause its just an insert.

Re: Front license plate

Guess it depends on the state you buy your car from. In kansas we don't have front license plates, so the bumper is clean w/out a place for one.

Re: Front license plate

The 01-03 bumpers had the square pronounced mounting location directly in the bumper for the plate.

The 04-05, with the redesign, shaved this for a clean bumper with an additional plastic mounting bracket that stuck out from the car and then allowed the plate to mount to it.

Re: Front license plate

^ there was a member on here that shaved it, and a few ppl followed suit. But every 01-03 you find will have that bump. They differentiated between countries, thats for sure. You know they didnt make state specific model civics, its all the same car.
