i have a friend that has a 2003 hybrid and I was not able to find any info on what options there are for lowing a hybrid. is there a different way to drop one compaired to the DIY post:

What would i need to do different? are there any spring options? or is cutting the only way to go? ive searched but have not found anything. any info would be super. thanks everyone

i think its basically the same chassis as non hybrid. the only thing that may be different are spring rates. it has that huge battery in the back seat.

You don't ever want to cut springs for a suspension. Springs are made to carry a certain load and when you cut them it decreases their carrying capacity thus creating many problems with the suspension system. I would try and find a better option than that or your friend could have custom springs made.

i completely agree. i am completely against ever cutting springs. the springs are designed to hold up certain weight with a certain give but only at the size they are originally manufactured at. theyre designed to be used the way theyre manufactured, and that means a certain length of metal shaped into a coil to accommodate the stress thats going to be put onto it. if you start cutting from them, they can also become unsafe, because the payload that theyre holding up and/or absorbing from underneath, is now all applied on a smaller coil to hold it up.
