Hi,
Quick question, I have had my civic now for 6 months, its a 2001 1.6i s vtec, and was wondering if it is normal to hear to clutch when idle.
The noise is just a spinning noise nothing else, but the pitch does change when pressing the clutch pedal in. Again its just a spinning noise... No clicking/grinding etc
Is this normal as on my previous cars i either havent heard it or just havent noticed as the engine noises have been louder than the civic heh
Im "guessing" this is just the noise of the clutch spinning and is a normal sound?

Thanks for the reply, I read that thread but its difficult to diagnose when you dont know what it "should" sound like.
I dont have any grinding, vibrations, noise at speed, metallic noises etc etc
just have a spinning noise, its not loud in the car but audible when standing by the drivers door. foot on the clutch pedal and its a little fainter, foot off the pedal and its a deeper noise.
After some confirmation really.

Your car should be a 1.7 motor however not a 1.6
