Re: 16s or 17s
go with 17s. as supafil was saying 16 is way too small.
i know that from experience because before i had my civic, i had a vw gti, which i had bought some 16s for. for the size of the car they looked pretty good on it, and when i sold it, they were only a couple months old so i decided to keep them instead of selling them with the gti. my plan was to put them on whatever next car i got. too bad they looked like **** on my civic. dont get 16s, youll regret it.

Re: 16s or 17s
Firstly the decision between 16"s and 17"s should be noted.
- are you tracking?
- do you want to add more unsprung weight?
- do you want to show your ride?
- lower side walls mostly for drifting
before just buying rims decide on what your purpose is.
here's my ride with 16"s and i think da **** looks hot.

here's toyomatts car from honda-tech. car's sick, and he tracks it.
Will remove image if matt asks.
here are 18"s and I think they're too big, but if you're showing it go ahead:

Re: 16s or 17s
those 16s look good on your car, but i think the drop helps a lot. in my opinion 16 is a bit too small for my liking, and 18s a bit too big. but for specific reasons like you were saying (track or show) you should go with either one of them two if thats mainly what you do. 17 is kind of an inbetween and just seems overall the best to go with i think. you can still do track, it still shows real nice, and its comfortable to ride around in. not to mention it still looks somewhat ok if you get the proper rubber and dont have a drop.
Re: 16s or 17s
yeah i hear ya. well more information for the guy is better. atleast he will have a more information when making the choice.
btw:
- even number tires are cheaper than odd number tires.
- lower profile are more expensive too.
