Re: Retros Anyone???

i have a couple old threads with some pics and info. you need stock headlamps, get the ones on ebay for $100 shipped so you dont have to retire the car til youre done. then you need a pair of hid projectors, size will matter, and there is little clearance when you start fitting it together both outside and inside the housing. i used the smallest available, old school e46 singles. then you need hid bulbs (stick with oem philips), and ballasts (any will do). ballasts are cheap on ebay, maybe $100 and you can get the stock 35w or upgrade 50w for brighter light. then you need shroud to cover around the projector so light wont escape, and then a bezel in front of the projector to make it look good. all you do is open the headlamps, cut a hole in the reflector, mount the projector with some screws and metal weld, and put it all together. make sure you have a way of aiming it properly before sealing everything together. then you make a relay wire harness for them and hook it all up. you could end up with something like this. dont use silicone inside the retro, it will form a haze on the lens like what happened with mine. check retrofitsource.com and hidplanet.com for more info.
