HID for CIVIC EM (01-03)

I have a 2003 4 door Civic.
I would like to install a HID kit for my car.
Did anyone install those conversion kit into the stock headlight?? any suggestions?
I didnt want to do retrofitting/new projector housing yet, and I want to know how the HID looks in the stock housing. Any pictures?? links?? DIY links?

As you know, the low and hi beam for this car is all in one light. But for HID, is there point in getting a bi-xenon?

Many thanks

Re: HID for CIVIC EM (01-03)

i think its an improvement over halogen bulbs, but i know it can be pretty blinding to other drivers. I also have Bi-Xenon and I can say that it's worth it whenever I want that extra amount of light.
bottom line, just do it!! and make sure u aim the lights down too so they don't blind too many people.
heres halogen and 6K HIDs for you to somewhat compare

yes my HIDs are in the stock housing and yes they are brighter, especially with hi beam on. I would describe them as being brighter, but not by a lot - but worth the money.

and yes fog light is burnt - probably because it was connected to my alarm/keyless entry. i'll get yellow bulbs when i get the cash...

Re: HID for CIVIC EM (01-03)

i have an hid conversion in the stock headlights without a retrofit. mine looks perfectly fine and its way way brighter than stock halogen. i have 8000k iceberg blue installed.

i dont have any pictures, but it installed nicely without any modification because of the type of hid kit i got. if you are using the stock headlights and you dont get the right type of hid kit, you will blind people unless you do modifications to your headlights. the right type of hid kit has bulbs that have a little metal shield looking thing that sits below the bulb itself...you can see in the attached picture below.

i only paid $150 usd for my hid kit and ive had it for over two years now and it still runs perfect. i got to pick the colour i wanted and it came with the bulbs that have the little metal shield underneath, so i didnt have to mess around with my stock headlights. it was just plug and play. all you have to do is aim them very very slightly.

Re: HID for CIVIC EM (01-03)

oh...and as for getting a bi-xenon kit...theres not really a point. the 2nd filament you would get in a bi-xenon is only for daytime running lights, and high beams. with a regular hid kit, you wont ever really need high beams for anything, and to me...daytime running lights are pointless. theyre only there so that other drivers can see you more easily, but in that case, you just have to turn your light switch once so that your signal and parking lights are on. in the daytime i always have my signal/parking/tail lights on. only at night i switch it once more to get my headlights.

i have a bi xenon kit that does not have the day time running lights. I thought bi xenon was so that you could get hi beam

Re: HID for CIVIC EM (01-03)

oh maybe it is just high beam with a bi-xenon kit, i always thought if it gives you a high beam filament, it would work as your drl too...well that kind of makes even less sense to me now to get a bi-xenon kit.
