LED Headlights

does anyone have LED headlights? How bright are they and do they last? Thinking of getting some but don't really wanna invest 50 bucks into something that will go out in a couple of months. Thanks.

Re: LED Headlights

yeah they are brighter than halogen and dimmer than hid. currently the hybrid lexus is the only released car that has em. technically the leds available now are bright enough, but you still need to engineer the optics and figure out how to dissipate the heat. but its doable, just not worth the effort.

Re: LED Headlights

they do, but if you do not transfer the heat away, the led will just overheat and die. only 70ma and below leds do not need heatsinks. all the hi power leds 1w+ run too hot by themselves without cooling.

Re: LED Headlights

eh, i think the philips XP (xtreme power) H4 bulb in stock headlight is best bet. it will be brighter and whiter than any other junk coated bulb. its the best legal bulb you can buy. those aftermarket projectors are already junk so i dont even think its worth messing with em. any higher output bulb is just gonna blow in a couple months from that small space they are in. what size bulb do they even use...

Re: LED Headlights

for H3, stick with osram super or narva rangepower from www.powerbulbs.com and for H1 use osram silverstar.
