so yea yesterday i got a header put on and it was fine until i was on my way to work this morning and the check engine light came on. it still drives fine, haven't noticed any loss of power or anything, but does anyone know why it would come on and how to fix it? Thanks.

do you have the O2 sensor plugged in? because the primary one goes somewhere on the header with the secondary somewhere downstream post-header. my CEL is on too because of the lack of a primary O2 sensor on the header

First of all do you have LX/DX if so you eliminated your catalytic converter and that would be the code you are throwing granted your O2 sensor is plugged in.

yea it's an lx, both sensors are plugged in the same order in which they were taken out (top to top, bottom to bottom). So is there any way to fix it or is it normal?

Yes use the spark plug non fouler trick or O2 simulator, but I'd use the spark plug non fouler it works like a charm.

Google it or search on here very easy mod to do. All it does is pull the O2 sensor further back making the ecu think the cat is still there. If you can't find it PM me.

just curious, what was the brand of the header you put in? i'm thinking of getting one for my '01 lx as well. aside from the CEL, what do you think of your new headers?

well it was just some cheap one i got off ebay, it's nice though and it bolted directly up with no problems. it seems to me that it gives me a tad bit more bottom end power, but that could be my imagination wanting it to. you'll have to do something with the pre-cat o2 sensor tho cuz it lays right up against the header so get some heat tape or something to cover the wire. (they screw in on the right side for some reason as opposed to the left side on the stock one)
