Quick question

I am very hesitant to ask this question for the fact that it is possible a newb question which yes I am a newb to the honda scence but not the tunning scene. My true loves are watercooled vws and bmws which is where this question comes from.

Question:
Is it possible to put JUST the head of a B16, B18, or k serries head on a D17?

You guys may think that is laughable but like I said I come form the euro scene where you can swap heads with no problem. examples, an 93-99 ABA (2.0 cross flow 8v motor) can have the head swapped out for a OLDER 9a 16v head. The 9a comes from 85-92 GTI's, GLI's, Passats, and Sirroccos. Also the 1.8t 20v head can also be put on a ABA.

so to me a head swap no matter what year makes sense as long as you have 8v, motronic igniton, and a cross flow motor anything is possible.

thanks in advance
flame suit is on just in case

Re: Quick question

Yeah, unfortunately that isnt possible with Hondas.

Funny though, I am trying to get in to the Dub Scene and you are getting into Hondas. If you are in the area, my friends and I from a few different forums in the area are putting together a huge VAG GTG this summer.

Re: Quick question

For the most part, the parts swap within engine series, not across them. The D17 is the true bastard child and you gotta have D17 parts. For 90+% of it, not even other D-series parts will work.

Search around, Hondas work totally different. I'm doing the opposite and trying to figure out VAG FSI right now, its equally a pain in the *** to me, everything is *** backwards.
