Everyday is Earth Day. Keep the cat.
Seriously though, our cats are pretty much straight through anyway. I had one on for a short time and the sound (and the smell) were awful. Plus I gained zero power and lost even more low-end torque. I didn't like it and wouldn't recommend it.

thank you very much i did not know that. i keep reading that stock cats are all restrictive n stuff...i guess its just propaganda. so if thats the case..headers dont make too much sense either do they.

Re: Anybody have a Megan Test Pipe??
Well it depends. I used to have a stutter-like effect from about 6700-7100 with the the stock header. Once I put the DC on, there was no stutter - smooth acceleration all the way to redline.
Most header applications are tuned so that the exhaust pulses hit a specific resonance and keep their velocity as the exhaust shoots out the ***-end of the car. I can almost guarantee that there was a bit of turbulence happening with the stocker at the RPM range that is not happening with my DC.

Re: Anybody have a Megan Test Pipe??
well i have an OBX header and i swear to u i lost power man. i painted my oem headers a flat black and im putting em back on. it felt so much better with them on. i never thought about dc's because they look like polished oem ones.

Well, in about a month I'll have an extra DC laying around.....Its the ceramic coated one. I hit it with some black grill paint, but the header gets too hot and flaked all of it off..... I'll keep you posted if you're interested. It'll go cheap.

Its the 4-1 shorty and will be excess when I strap the turbo on. I'll give you first dibs if you're still interested at that point.

Re: Anybody have a Megan Test Pipe??
^^ really... my exhaust is magnaflow...see if u can post up id love to hear it.. how did it sound in the higher rpms? how did u fix the CEL
Re: Anybody have a Megan Test Pipe??
it sounded good at high and low rpms, magnaflow is pretty deep by itself, the test pipe made it louder but not in a bad way, i liked it better with the test pipe
i recently rebooted my computer and im not sure if i lost that clip, im going check if i made any backup discs
As for the CEL, i never got around to fixing it, i know theres something you can buy to trick it and the light goes off forgot what its called

Re: Anybody have a Megan Test Pipe??
wow thanks that helps alot..thing is my magnaflow has custom piping..u think that will make a difference? i have the resonator and the muffler from magnaflow. that shou;ldnt be different right? as long as my piping is normal and not all crazy and pointless...u felt any difference with the test pipe on? how did it sound for long drives...liek if ur driving over 3k rpms for a while like on the interstate..did it get annoying?
Re: Anybody have a Megan Test Pipe??
im not sure about the custom piping, what size piping is it? should be the same as long as the piping is all the same size
and ya I did feel a difference, felt faster, of course it could have just been me but running a straight pipe technically should add some hp
didnt bother me at all on long drives, i also have a header and cai

Re: Anybody have a Megan Test Pipe??
perffect... well the custom piping is the same size magnaflow offers on its catback... 2 and a quarter piping. so i dont think it should make that much a difference, as long as theres not too many crappy curves and bends.. well i guess ima get it then, i found a good deal.. we'll see what happens. thanks again, let me knwo if u find that clip.
Re: Anybody have a Megan Test Pipe??
does your catback have to be 2 and a quarter to bolt up to the megan test pipe. i have the skunk2 catback for my lx. its sitting in my room. i figured i needed ex headers and downpipe. i was thinking megan both. will it all bolt up right? skunk2 is 2.5 inch i think

If you dont want to wire the o2 sim to the ecu, you can do this:
