as far as performance mods go... whats the first thing to do?

as in: you have a stock civic (manual 05 ex). whats the first thing you would do to it? the biggest bang for the buck? exhaust, intake?

unfortunately, im not big on making things louder... if its 10% louder thats one thing. but i like to be able to talk to people in the backseat. i dont need to roar at people as i drive by.

My favorite mod was a good clutch and lightweight flywheel combined with the aluminum shift bushings. Its a little bit of work but pretty much the only one I really felt was worth the time. The exhaust and intake didnt do much. The only header/exhaust I got to make significantly more power was the HP long tube header with the CAT delete and a custom 2.5 inch exhaust. It was loud as hell though and not smog legal of course. I could set off alarms cruising in second in the city from the deep bass tone it had, that got old fast even though it sounded pretty sweet.

The best performance mod would probably be new suspension. And that depends on where you are trying to go fast.

id have to say I/H/E so Intake (injen), Headers (DC), and Exhaust (magnaflow, RS*R, or w/e), then since you have a 5 spd go for the Revo Short Throw Shifter and RSX base Shift ****.

then go for Suspension, then upgrade the Cam, and then go drivetrain.

all just IMO.
