HID installation issues

Hey guys!! and girls!!

I'm having problems with getting HIDs to work for my 2002 civic lx. It's a H4 hi/low kit, with high beam halogen and low beam HID, except HID never goes on. I tried installing it on my friends car (88 skyline) and it works perfectly fine, but it wont work for me Anyone knows what could be causing this?

Fuses are fine since the halogen bulb goes on, so i dont know what else to try.. Do i need one of those relay kits that they sell? Thanks for help

Re: HID installation issues

Were they plug and play or did you have to splice the wires on? And to get things straight, you have the HIDs as lows and stock bulbs as hi's, is that correct?

Re: HID installation issues

Totally plug and play. And the bulb actually has 2 bulbs on it, one of them is HID for low beam and another is halogen for high beam. Stock bulbs came out, so now I have halogen working for high beam but HID doesn't ignite for low beam, only flickers for DRL.

Re: HID installation issues

Try pulling out the 2 drl fuses. I had problems with my light during install when the fuses were in. After pulling them out my lights worked fine. I don't know how they will affect your Hi-beams, as i only have lows. My lights have been working fine for the past few months no problems what so ever.

I just installed a kit on my gf's honda fit and before i pulled the fuses only one side lit up. But it has been working fine for her for a week now.

Good luck with your install and hope this helps you out.

Re: HID installation issues

I had one DRL fuse pulled out and now I pulled out the second one but still no luck. What I found by experimenting though is that if I take out the fuse for one of my headlights and hook up HID to another one, it will start flickering. However, if I put the fuse for first headlight back in, HId will not go on at all again. I'm totally confused when it comes to electronics, so I'm guessing my battery is low? (I always started the car before testing lights though )

Re: HID installation issues

Either that or try changing your HEADLIGHT fuse to atleast 20amp.
