2013 Center console disassembly

I'm looking for any diagrams for 2013 Civic center console disassembly.
I found quite a bit of information for older models, but not for 9th gen.

It looks like:

Thanks in advance.

Re: 2013 Center console disassembly

Stock photos? LOL

Pull handbrake up high

Plate and tray around shifter (auto trans), start at the rear edge and pry it up to release clips, then pull rearward. Don't yank out any wires. You may need to move the shift lever back.
Unplug the stuff attached to the tray.
ANother connector under the tray toward the front of it needs disconnected to pull the console out.

Cupholder should pull straight up, another bunch of clips holds it in.

Small square of carpet in the armrest storage compartment comes out.

Then you should be able to find all the bolts that hold the center console in....probably 2 inside the armrest storage compartment... another 3 or so around the shifter.
2 pushpins on the outside at the front edges have to come out too.

You don't need to remove that to get the center console out.

Re: 2013 Center console disassembly

Many thanks. So I don't break anything :-) - want to clarify:
"Plate and tray around shifter" - is that the black PRNDD3... plate #1
or the grey mezzinine on the console #2 - picture below:

Thanks again.

Re: 2013 Center console disassembly

#2. Pry upward at the parting line just below the line for #2 in your pic.

The PRNDL trim (#1) stays where it is, the gray trim (#2) lifts up around it.

The trim you labeled #2 in your pic is #17 in this parts diagram

@ezone - :-)

To redeem myself for posting stock images, I'm posting my images with instructions.
It's a bit detailed - but hope can return the favor.
Thanks again Ezone.

Re: 2013 Center console disassembly

Wonder if anyone tried installing a couple extra USB charging ports into the front bin area next to the Aux port. There never seem to be enough charging ports when wife is in the car.

Re: 2013 Center console disassembly

Great write up

Guess I had most of it right but I didn't see the one screw in front tray in the instruction list nor taking the rear cover off the back of the console.

Re: 2013 Center console disassembly

Very clever. I'm wondering if I can just drill a hole and permanently install something like this:

Amazon.com: SCOSCHE USBC242M 12 Watts per port (24W/4.8A total output) USB Car Charger - the FASTEST CHARGE RATE for Apple and Android Devices - Retail Packaging - Black: Cell Phones & Accessories Amazon.com: SCOSCHE USBC242M 12 Watts per port (24W/4.8A total output) USB Car Charger - the FASTEST CHARGE RATE for Apple and Android Devices - Retail Packaging - Black: Cell Phones & Accessories

Re: 2013 Center console disassembly

There's probably enough room to install a second power outlet, then you can just plug that in when needed
Or....
Google image search came up with this

This looks promising too, want to whittle a rectangular hole somewhere?
