Noisier brakes 2014 Civic

Hello all!
I recently purchased a 2014 Civic and I have noticed the brakes make more noise than my 2006 did when I first got it. However, when I first got my 2006 it had the regular brakes on it, when I replaced them I used some long-life pads, after which they got a little bit louder.

I was just wondering if they use a different type of brake pad on the 2014 that might be louder, the noise is only audible the last few seconds of slowing to a stop, or when I first let off the brakes when I star the car.

I know my 2014 has 4 wheel disc, whereas my '06 has drums on the back.

Re: Noisier brakes 2014 Civic

You bought it when? How many miles?
Give them time to break in.
Drive another 14 to compare..

Pop noise or grunt noise during very slow movement (~1MPH) condition can be normal.
Pad shift noise (pop) is normal.

Rotors rusted overnight?

I couldn't tell you if the pad material is the same as was used in older versions, I have no way of knowing that info..

Apporimately 2 weeks ago, about 1,000 miles on it(I drive a lot)

I've never had a new car, this is only my second car ever so I was un-aware if the noises I heard were normal or not.

Re: Noisier brakes 2014 Civic

At my dealer, I have not heard any complaints about brake noise on those as of yet.
I didn't find any specific bulletins on brake noise for that car either.
