yay.
The 2013 model will supposedly be available Nov. 29, 2012.
"When it arrives on your lots you will see dramatic improvements to the exterior styling that moves Civic into a more premium sporty direction. The interior has even more upgrades and improvements to bring more sophistication and quality to its appearance."
"... you will want to have little to no Civics on hand at arrival time of this refreshed 2013 model. The changes made to the 2013 model will make the outgoing 2012 Civic a difficult model sell when they are side to side. I strongly encourage you to discuss your Civic inventory situation with your district manager today, and set up a sell down strategy that will reduce your total remaining model year 2012 Civics by a minimum of 60% before December 1, 2012."

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

I sure as hell hope that is a joke. The grammatical errors and typos in that "letter" are so blatant, it would be an embarrassment if it truly came from the National Sales office for Honda USA.

I was told the same thing when I was working as a Honda Sales Consultant, my only question (slightly silly) is will the 2012 be a collector down the road?

The 2013 is also gonna be 9th gen, pretty sure. I'd wager the 2013 model will be 95% the same as the 2012 ... Honda's just going to change the sheet metal and dash a bit.
The drivetrain and unibody will be exactly the same. This is the essence of a car.
The 2013 change will be similar to the change Honda made from the 2003->2004 Civic: It was still a 7th-gen Civic, but they changed the headlights and grille a little.

Premium... they'll probably add some content and sound dampening, more soft touch surfaces, etc.
Hopefully they don't start quietly decontenting them over the next few years as you see with a lot of new models.
I agree, probably the same basic car but then the basic car wasn't what reviewers griped about it was the cheapness of it. To regular car buyers buying up from a much older Civic though, the 2012 was probably a revelation in terms of content.

Dealership brand new 2012 civic-LX sedans for sale in my area for $16,900.
I suppose there is alittle wiggle room downward from there also.
2013's are due in the showroom any day now.........mattandchris
