Hey guys, I'm new to the forum as I just bought my first civic (2012 model). Does anyone have experience with hooking up amp's to the CD player? I'm wondering if the factory HU has a sub-out line or if I'll have to buy an aftermarket player in able to send signals to the amp.

2 door or 4 door?

Quickest/simplest would be to tap into the speaker wires right at the rear speakers, the old school way.

I don't see an add on sub kit as a factory accessory in the catalog, so I seriously doubt there would be any way to control it from the factory HU, nor would there be wiring for it...on an LX or DX.
I see a factory amp and sub in the wiring diagram for premium audio (EX and SI?, not DX or LX). The sub (if you had one) would be in the center of the rear shelf.

Here is my video showing how I hooked up mine, but I did it the way e-zone already stated, by tapping into the rear speaker wires.
