The Z-1 is going fast and not coming back. Some can no longer get it.

And yes, I would go for the filter since it is an option.

Re: Auto Transmission oil change interval?

the new stuff is supposed to be an improved formula and honda says it can be used as a replacement for the old stuff. it has never been tested in older vehicles so there is no way to know for sure. and if it causes trans failure, honda's excuse will be the cars are very old and it would have died anyway.

Re: Auto Transmission oil change interval?

I bought my 06 civic ex in 2012 with 75,000 mi on it. At 125000 I had the transmission serviced. At 190000 I figured it was time to drain and refill. The transmission fluid was almost black it was so dirty. It shifts noticeably smoother and seems to be a little quieter.

I read one of the posts that said they put 3 qts in theirs. It holds 2 1/2 qts of DW-1.

Re: Auto Transmission oil change interval?

Why would you think it wasn't tested on older cars?
