Civic EX Sedan - Commentary
Me and my Civic
Bought a new Civic EX Sedan over the weekend (8/19/2006).
I'll add spots to this as a running commentary on my thoughts and facts about the car.
Civic Ex Sedan auto - new - Galaxy Grey - All option but Nav, fog lights and spoiler.
$20,500 - dealer was fantastic (unreal for LA!). In and out in 2 hours, one which was waiting for them to finish detailing it.
First impression:
Love the car. I rented almost every model I considered buying. Could not rent a Civic, no one seems to rent them out.
Rented: Corolla, Matrix, Vibe, HHR, Caliber, PT Cruiser, Cobalt, Cobalt SS, Mazda 3, Saturn Ion, Hyundai Sonata, Nissan Altima
Winner of the rentals: Cobalt Sedan SS
Drove the rental to the Honda dealer. Told him that was his competition.
Car is great. No initial issues after the first 100 miles. As I hit mile-stones or issues I will post them here.

Just hit 500 miles!
Took it for a spin in the mountains (LA Crest Highway) and it performed great!
Overall mileage has been around 30 but I will wait till 1000 before I start tracking actual.
Only issue (small), and it is personal, it is too easy to drop it into D3 instead of D. Have to teach myself to check the dash display. I will say D3 does work well for the hills to minimize braking. Double checked with tranny mechanic and he said that was one of the design criteria.
So......
Overall satisfaction (out of possible 10) - 10
Next post will be an issue or 1000 miles....
