1.7 liter???

I dont know that this has been discussed before but... our engines are 1.7 liter well mine is anyways I know some here have hatches and Hybrids but back to my question. We are only making 127HP with our 1.7 liter. Previously 6thgens were making 127 with 1.6 liter. I think there is a connection between our ULEV emission rating and the increased displacement. Obviously all things being equal increased displacement should mean increased performance. So we should have extra horsepower locked up in emissions or.. something of that nature. How do we go about obtaining that horsepower that is so rightfully ours? Also, I was reading about Honda turning our D17 into a performance machine. They port'n'polished the engine, did an exhaust system, and an intake and achieved 147HP flywheel anybody read about that? I also have yet to find out any information about Port'n'polish. 1. Is it expensive 2. Does it take long 3. Where can it be done 4. are the gains significant 5. And can port'n'polish be used with forced induction ? And if anyone knows how to wire an Amp (please dont give me that stupid link to that DIY on this website Iv seen that one too many times) to stock 6x9s please IM me JapaneseRoboto on AIM.

We got an extra .1 L because of a longer stroke. Torque increased. Displacement doesn't have any correlation to HP at all.

the reason why we arent putting out more hp is because of the intake manifold, and exhaust

other than that and our stroke, its pretty much the same engine

CapYoda has a spectacular aura aboutCapYoda has a spectacular aura about
more torque yo.

8 lbs.ft more.

and its actually placed pretty well in the mid range too.

and actually, we have less drivetrain lost or something... cuz we pump around 110 hp stock on an ex 5spd.. while previous gen with the same rating pumps out about 104 hp....

and one last thing.. its 1,668 cc...

IMO, barely 1.7 liter.

argh.
