Toyota Swap?

Would it be possible (and if so practical) to swap the 1.8L engine from a Toyota Celica GT or GT-S into our cars? If so, what would be the required modifications and costs involved?

That would cost more than a K20 swap.....geeez......you must have some big bucks.

no and no... and why would u want to do that for the celica isnt that much faster than the civic. ive tooken out both the gt and gt-s in my car with basic boltons, and for some odd reason that u can do it. it would cost u more than it would be worth. if u have the money and want to make u car go faster. do a k20 swap or trow a turbo on.

oh and on a side note why would want to trow a toyota engine in a honda. that's one of the dumbst things ive herd dont mean to flame but come on now. if u wanted a toyota u should of goten one and not the honda

Well, I don't think that putting a Toyota engine in a Honda is a dumb idea. Fact is that K20s are expensive right now owing to the fact that they're a) somewhat rare and b) in demand.

A Toyota GT-S engine produces 180hp and has less displacement than a K20, which may or may not equal less weight.

I was just curious about it and the logistics, I'm not necessarily swapping.

the celica GT uses the 1ZZ-FE, which is the same as the corolla's. that one's definitely not worth it. the GT-S has a 2ZZ-GE which would be a better choice, but still not a great idea on a civic. a 2zz swap into a corolla would be sweet, though.
