Thumbs up ummm... ok. i cant tell if this is a rice liar or not, but it sounds good...

i was at a car meet today, or what some may call a "rice" meet. i was looking for 7th genners and found some nerdy lookin guy. me and him talked for a while and so he told me his mods. hell they looked good. pully kit, exhaust, gude cams, gude head package, TURBO, 25 shot zex kit, port/polish, and catback with fart pipe. he claims 240 whp on stock internals. damn he even had a rear disk brake conversion. then he mentions that he converted his fuel system to a return. so that means he has a return line on it. is that really possible to convert our stock **** returnless fuel system into a return??? by far, i would call this the best non bs turbo 7th gen so far without the k20 swap. he took me for a ride and really it pulled like hell after 2500 rpms and i heard hil loud bov each time he shifted!! so i think 240 whp sounds feasable. doesnt it?? right now, i am in awe.

240whp is a bit hard to belive with stock internals.
do u know how much boost he was running??
240whp is about 276hp. so he got about 149hp from his mods.
i would belive maybe 210whp
but this is just my opinion

Although I hugely doubt it, he should show some dyno slips. How much PSI is he runnin?

It is very possible. However people with boosted 7thGens still run the stock returnless.

by far, i would call this the best non bs turbo 7th gen so far without the k20 swap. he took me for a ride and really it pulled like hell after 2500 rpms and i heard hil loud bov each time he shifted!! so i think 240 whp sounds feasable. doesnt it?? right now, i am in awe.
Have you been in any other car with 240WHP? I'm in doubt, but if he shows you some worthy dynographs then good. If he shows some nice time slips... even better.

he said 15 lbs using a t3/t4 hybrid. thats like enouff to blow the head off! i myself thought thats kinda high, he says stock internals like the pistons and rods are good till 400 hp. he said something about "shotpeened stock internals" but what does that mean? i'll have to talk to him again to see what he has done. ohhhh, also i noted this, he is running a tiny bit lean each time he uses the 25 shot to spool up his turbo. hmmmm....

shotpeened basically means hitting the parts w/ thousands of little BBS. This actually strengthens all the pieces, so his internals should be stronger than stock. Cryo- treating engine components is another way to strengthen stock parts. (Basically dipping in liquid nitrogen).
I know people don't reccomend running more than 8 PSI on stock internals, which can give about 50+ more power, so ~220 to the wheels seems realistic w/ NOs. If he is pushing more boost, he could get more power.
Questions to ask; Does he have a block guard as our open deck design is not good for high power outputs?
What capacity are his injectors? The stock ones can't support more than 200 hp at the crank.
A dyno/ timeslip would be nice

NO block guard, 390 cc injectors????? never heard of them b4. he could be exaggerating a lil. he claims 14.2 on the quarter and tells me he has no slips at the moment. wtf, i'm loosing faith here guys. i will ask him if he can become a member here.... so now, i am thinkin of more like 220 whp or even less, umm like 210 whp. this is getting confusing

14.2 and 240HP in a 2550lb chassis sounds highly inaccurate.
