Question about painting trim pieces

I've read through the DIY and ran a few searches. I got the plasticote silver as recommended by the DIY and I got a plasticote white primer. I had an extra dash piece laying around from the old radio bottom so i was testing it. I noticed that the part where I had put the primer, i can scratch it off very easily. The part without the primer was a bit more durable. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? Or I got the wrong primer...

One more q. Say if I screw up this time can I respray over?

I used no primer. Just six light coats of Plasti-kote silver and 2 coats of clearcoat.

Oh yeah, make sure you clean them with dish soap first!

u dont have to sand the area just make sure its clean.
and put about 2-3 layers of primer. make sure it completly dries before adding the paint.
clear coat is good but not necessary
remember take ur time.

Thanks. No one had trouble with any of it rubbing off because my paint rubs off quite easily with the slightest scratch

Like I said in the other thread, I used no primer.

3 coats paint
2 coats clear-coat

looks awesome, like it's just been armor-alled.
