Back when I joined this site it was specially to ask about electric water pumps. I got some less then helpful feedback. I found a site tonight that shows a dyno on a daily driver, gains are around 10hp. look at the bottom of the linked page. dyno Not trying to sound like an a$$, but back then there where some di#ks on the site.

if you think its worth it then go for it. The gains WONT be as good but if you want to do it go for it, maybe 1-2 HP if that. Not my idea of worth it but then again your bank man. GL. Once you get it post the results
Hey, I'm not a d*ck, but I would like to hear about that electric water pump install.
First thing though...in that article, the guy says the pump made an additional 10hp. But that was on a car that makes 275hp. That is a 3.4% increase. What is the stock HP of a 2001 EX, 110? If so, then you are looking at about approx 3.5hp. Not bad, but the pump costs $200 and the relay costs $24. So $224 for 3hp. The guy even mentioned it was not really a HP mod, it was more of a mod to keep his engine temp cooler.
Also, the stock water pump is driven by the timing belt, right? So if you go electric, that means the timing belt configuration is going to have to change....you're gonna need to find a timing belt that is WAAAAAY shorter. Consider that the 'Vic is a SOHC 4-cylinder engine. I'm guessing (truly guessing) that as far as timing belts go, there are not many that will be shorter than the 'Vic. And the new belt you'd need would be what, 4-5" shorter than stock? I just can't see where you're gonna find that. I'm assuming if you go into any dealer or service shop and tell them, "I need a timing belt for a 'Vic but it's gotta be 5" shorter than stock", they're just gonna look at you like you're an
.
Well anyways, those are just some things that came to mind. But I do admit the idea (and the free'd horses) does seem pretty cool. Keep us posted on how it goes...
