im stupid and i want a new horn
so ive got a 98 civic EX and i just bought a "blazer5 horn highway blaster" with the "big rig sound" but im new and i dont know much about cars. i looked at removing the front bumper but i dont have any jaks to hold it up, HELLPP??!~ i want a truck horn...is that possible? or maybe a train horn??
Sweet. I'm new to this site myself, but I think a truck or train horn would kick ***. Image that--honking at some SUV, or anyone for that matter.
Ahem, anyways, I know I've seen a DIY on removing the factory horn on this site. It might've been in a thread instead of the DIY section-try searching.
Good luck and let me know how it works out for you.

I installed the FIAMM freey blaster the same one u have, it's louder but rattles, so I took it back and returned it. Plus I don't use horn that much, not to mention Civic horns sound sissy; I rather use my finger or my gun.
Sublime, wtf? On the '98 Civic you don't need to jack the car up to remove the bumper. It's just two phillips screws on each side up in the wheel wells, some plastic "pop" inserts across the top (under the hood), and two 10mm bolts underneath holding the splash gaurd to the bumper. To work on the horn, you don't need to remove the fender all the way, you can leave the passenger side phillips screw in and just let the bumper gently hang down off the internal metal bumper.
For you guys who want big horn sound: leave the stock horn as is, those "replacements" aren't very much better. Get an airhorn kit, which runs off a compressor powered by your battery. You run a switch inside your 'Vic and can 'toot' the stock or 'blast' the airhorn, depending on your mood/situation. There is an airhorn DIY on this site. Good learning experience if you've never done any automotive wiring. But not too hard. You guys really should give it a try.
