All total horse power would be about 1/2 more than stock, if any at all.

not realy the power comes from the piping before the muffler so no your just buying a really expensive noise maker

It would probably gain less than 1 hp, still gaining something though. It wouldn't be very loud either most likely if it's just the muffler. Your best bet for performance would be to get a catback exhaust.

Minimal gain. Probably not noticeable at all.
And what's up with people being "rice" with just a muffler. That word is too overrated. Dr5D didn't even say what kind so you can't possibly judge anything.

Anyways...my cat-back actually robbed me of lower end power but my intake made up for it.

Sorry, maybe I should have made myself a little bit more specific. Lots of people in my town just put on these bomb mufflers that just make noise. I have yet to hear a new muffler that doesnt make a lot of noise, hence my conclusion.

The whole catback system makes a nice, throaty sound. Not the high-pitched whine that comes out of the tailpipes of the 1337 ricers.

it's rice or another word we can use is cheap. Is the true intention to make a little more power or to just make a buncha noise? All mufflers no matter what brand or size by themselves are ***. Please do not spread propaganda to those who may be considering getting, just mufflers. Encourage them to get cat-backs because most of the time their true goal will be to gain a couple of extra hp & not the waking up of the entire neighborhood approach cause you got this cool looking can for an exhaust.

More than likely just replacing the muffler wouldnt give you anything but the sound, being as you would still have the restrictive stock exhaust until you get to the muffler.

When you get a custom midpipe do not go larger than 2.25"

Any larger, you will be losing the backpressure that is needed to make the Headers
work effectively. Therefore you will be losing Horsepower.

only go larger piping if you will have a turbo installed 3" is ideal if you have a turbo.

Changing the exhaust system is more for sound on our cars...

Yeah that is true...catbacks are 10 times better. However, if you do get a catback...there is always that rattling noise that you get from the midsection...my best guess is to buy the muffler you want...then take it somewhere to get custom piping done so it doesn't rattle...or if u don't wanna go through all that trouble just get you a catback and pray that it doesn't rattle

Hmm, I don't seem to get any rattling with my Tanabe Hyper. Are you talking about rattling when going over bumps and holes or just from revving really high?
