I wonder if there is a way to make the starter not start the car but just use the battery to turn on the A/C or heat for no more then 5 minutes just to maybe warm the car up a little thats all i want it for. Im gonna be useing the code alarm TW-2 i work for a car audio place but i dont do the alarms out installer does i should ask him. the tw-1 is made my audiovox and only dealers can get the real tw-2 code alarm piece. nice alarm though - tw-2 might be out by now though
You might be able to wire everything up how it would normally be done and just not hook up the wire that goes to the starter and tachometer...therefore the 'brain' would think the car started but in fact it just turned on the accessories and stuff... talk to the installer and see what they have to say because i'm sure they could tell you the best.

You can't run them off of the battery alone.
a remote start on a manual is possible. my friend has it on his sentra spec v. its illegal to install them in some states cuz if u left the car in gear n u do the remote start i has the potential to kill a passer-by or seriously damage other vehicles or property.

It is entirely possible to put a remote starter on a manual trans, in fact there are several units specificly designed for them. The only ones i can think of right now are the compustar alarms and one or two of the more expensive clifford alarms (i think the avant guard 4 and the solaris). Im not sure how the clifford ones work, but i know that the compstar actually leaves the car running when you turn the key off until you open and close the door. If you press the brake, dont set the parking brake, or reopen the door, it wont remote start.
It is entirely possible, but as everyone says it is illegal in most states on a manual tranny due safety reasons. Although, you can use any remote starter brand and just do a clutch bypass. I was lucky and my friend helped me install my Python 880xp with the remote start features on my manual 7thgencivic.

Yes its possible to be done, but i wouldnt recommend doing it. If you do install it remember to leave your car in neutral. If you dont leave it in neutral it will roll and possibly hit something in its path. I personally dont recommend it on a manual due to that situation possibly happening.

i hade that option with my Clifford alarm but its illegal here in TX so NO one would do it. Then i really thought about it and its not worth it down here, doesnt get cold enough to worry about warming the engine up. I do however want a push button ignition
