How to take out metal bar on trunk??

how the hell do you take out that metal bar? it's the one between the taillights... it looks hella ugly... thanks for any help

also, will it look better without it, or will there be any scratches or anything?

Nomally when something in factory installed in a car there is some reason....

it's the long metal strip between the taillights... right above the license plate

by the way i drive a 2002 civic sedan lx

are you talking about the chrome trim piece? casue if you are hell yea it would look ugly. if your car came with a chrome one then i believe you can get a body colored one someplace, but i dont know where since i never had to bother.

yea i'm talking about that one... i've seen pics of civics without them, and they seemed to look nicer... i don't know if they had anything else changed after they took it out though

well if i shouln't remove it, does anyone know where i can get a colored piece? i have a white civic and i hate how that thing looks

I don't think the coupe one fits on the sedan though. I know the front chrome trim piece, the one on the hood, can be replaced with the coupe body colored one, but the coupe / sedan trunk lids, and shapes are different, I think? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I bet that piece will fit. I think other people have done the swap.

And YES if you change the back one, you should change the front one. It would flow much better and not be ghetto.

cool, so i would order the coupe back piece...

anyone know how to take off the front piece and the back piece?

and... the front/back pieces aren't there when i check for them on a 2002 lx sedan... the ex coupe pieces will fit on my car right?

chrome sucks, i had mine painted both front and rear. costs only $15
if you remove it then the lights for your plates will be exposed, and that doesn't look good either.
