Question K20 swap some ?'s about it

Ok now that it is possible to put the RSX Type S motor into our gen civic. Well i would actually be considering this project maybe in a couple years when my motor is close to bein old and done with. But i do have a ? about some things. Now will the 6spd tranny gear shift box all that fit into our cars?? also isnt the rev limit different on the RSX and Civic. I mean this is just some small ?'s i have off the top of my head. Just curious thats all.

You can use the rsx tranny or modify the civic tranny to work. Because where reverse is on our civic..the 6th gear is on the rsx. Personally I would keep the rsx trany. I want 6 gears and the ratios are better suited to the engine. If you buy a K20 Make sure you get the control box thingie (thingie being the technical name for it) The box that came with the rsx would have the diffrent limiter setting.

most swaps will come with the tranny, so it's not something you should worry about. anyway if you're not gonna do this for a few years, don't ask because by then there will be many, many more options for doing the k20 or other engine swaps for 7th gens. in a few years the k-swap will be something like the b-swap for older civics.

if u want a K20 now, look in junkshops. get one off from a CRV if u want 5 speed. has higher torque too.

well thats cool, i was just curious about some things to do about the swap. I really don't plan on doin it till way down the road. And hopefully there will be more motors to choose from, all we have now is the K20 and H22. So thanx for all your input.

yea the CRV is like the suv for honda before the element and pilot came out ths year. I believe the motor is a B20, some people have rebuild that and put it into older civics, and yes they are faster.
