Installing generic intake??

anyone ever figured out how to mount a generic intake?

you know how they come with those two pieces of metal brackets?? i can never understand why...

supposely there's away to use that to mount on pretty much any vehicles... but....

I sure as hell cant really tell right now.

I dont really need to mount it.. but I'd just like to know.

btw I'm rather surprised, this $55 intake came with a tranny bracket!

talk about exact replica of AEM... the funny thing is, it doesn't come with any brackets on the intake.

the last generic CAI I got... no tranny bracket, but there's brackets on the pippings... and comes with the rubber mount... this one doesn't...

oh well, I rather have tranny bracket so I can do a better install, than brackets on the pippings.

Do you know if those generic Ebay CAIs will fit a automatic?
Everyone on Ebay sells the exact same CAI.
I've found only 1 seller who sold CAI's with a K&N filter and he claimed it would fit any model civic and all trannies.
I tried e-mailing him but no response and the auction ended.

Hey, I used zip ties to keep it in place...They are working Very well...For the first bracket the one closest to the TB i bent part of the bracket up so the zip tie wouldn't fall off...For the bottom one i didnt' have to it stays in the U shape of the bracket and i zip tied it to the nearest thing....Make sure the zip ties are very tight to where the bracket doens't move at all..

Pic attached, but you cant see cause of the strut but it ill still give you an idea...

oh yea, also cut the rubber coupling, the one that hooks the intake to the TB, this is so the hood doesnt scratch up the piping...plus if you install a generic strut like mine it wont rub the rubber tubing to the engine...

EDIT:

Oh im sorry i didn't see your post said that the intake had no brackets...I bought mine for 50 and mine came with brackets...Look for another seller....I did have mine loose in the engine for a while, doesnt really do any damage..just to the piping mabye (scratching it up)
And if you compare this to an AEM its not the same, the AEM piping is thicker in diameter I think

i had the one you have before.. didn't really like it..

got this one thinking its bigger diameter but doesn't seem like it is. LOL.

plus it has no bracket.

BUT, it has the AEM tranny bracket.. a similiar one anyway.. this way it'll be easier for me to secure the tranny cable and negative wire.

its kind of silly that it'll bother to supply me with a CNC milled bracket, but not a bracket on the pippings. lol.

I had to cut the rubber coupling too on the other intake, this one seems like it'll fit fine.

and it has a semi-better filter too, as you can see.

I can install this fine, but I just want to know how to use those two metal pieces.. lol. I know there's a way to use them, but I can't figure it out.

did you buy a CAI?

is it an LX/DX CAI? those are a bit different than EX's.. I duno why AEM did that but whatever... so the generic ones that replicate AEM's design also has a EX one and a DX/LX one...

here's a picture of a tranny bracket:
