*WHICH ONE IS THE MEMORY WIRE?*
i just installed a sony xplod but they didnt have a harness for my car at that time. so i did it the hard way and cut the wires. i connected the wires according to DIY (audio chart). but which one is the memory?
cuz everytime i turn on my car, the clock resets and so does the equalizer.
CAN ANYONE HELP ME OUT ON THIS???!!!

well, you need to take a test light and see what wire is hot or on all the time. That is the memory wire.

thanks, i just gotta figure out where to connect it cuz i have 3 loose wires.

It's the Red or the Yellow wire on the XPlod Harness, one is the constant power (the memory) and the other is the ignation switched.

the standard for wiring is yellow=constant +12 volts (memory)
red=switched +12 volts

ouch, that sucks you had to cut the harness
but yeah yellow is the constant, and the red is the ignition switch...
