how much hp diffrence between 1.7 and 2.0 engines?

ok i am no bright star about cars ,, and i am soory if the quesion was already asked,,but today at work i was playing with the computer and i found that the 2001 civics have only one stock option for the engine which is 1.7 sohc and the 2002 civics have the option of 1.7 sohc and 2.0 dohc engines,
so i was just wondering how much stronger the 2.0 dohc engine is than the 1.7 sohc ,(in hp)??
and if there is a way to change the the sohc in 1.7engine to dohc (EX)??

Well, the EX has 127 HP and the Si has 160 HP..

And no, you can't change it from a SOHC to a DOHC.

Edit: Oh yeah and the Si didn't come out in 2001, that's why it's not listed. By the way, there's more potential out of the 2.0 engine cuz there's more aftermarket support for it.

another thing... EX has the all mighty D17, SI has that crap motor we call the K20A3 (or even the JDM K20A)

different series motor, so its not jus different displacement. Whole different design basically.

lol ,, the crappy computers only list the make of the car and the models like civic ,, accord ,, and for each model of a car it ask 's you about the engine , it dosent ask about the specifics like ex ,, or si when you select the engines ,thats why i got so many problems with the fricking costumers ,, (only some parts it will ask what model it is ,, like lx , dx , si)

then again i love to ask the costumers about their cars ,,what kinda headlight bulb do you need ?? low beam or high beam??
they sometimes answer:
whats low beam and high beam??i just need the bulb in front of the car??

You were probably reading Motor Trend or something that reads like
Standard engine: 115 HP 1.7L SOHC I-4
Optional Engine: 127 HP 1.7L SOHC I-4
160 HP 2.0L DOHC I-4

You can't get the 2.0L in anything but the Si Hatch.

Hey you know that concept 2002 civic, i read that it has a custom high-flow intake manifold and its been ported/polished/decked with also 2" piping and sport exhaust. They got 170hp out of that.

Where can we get a high-flow intake maniflod or can we modify ours?

2002 concept civic
